Explore Mount Snowdon

Glyn Afon is at the foot of Mount Snowdon, ideal if you want climb one of the many Snowdon trails or if you want explore the North Wales area. Llanberis itself is the start of the Llanberis path; the most commonly used trail to the top of Snowdon.

Llanberis is a major centre for outdoor activities with Glyn Afon Guest House being centrally located making it an ideal starting point for a number of walks, whether it is a stroll around the village or a 1085 meter climb to the summit of Snowdon.

The Snowdon Mountain Railway, Padarn Country Park and Lake Railway, The Electric Mountain and The National Slate Museum of Wales are all within a five minute walk. For the more active guest there is scuba diving in Vivian Quarry. Mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking, pony trekking and watersports. The village hosts many events and challenges each year including the International Fell face, Ras Yr Wyddfa, which starts and ends in Llanberis, Snowdonia Slateman Triathlon and The Snowdon Marathon. There is also Snowdon Rocks a rock concert at the top of Snowdon which has been held for the last ten years organised by Alarm front man Mike Peters in aid of Cancer charities. We are also a short drive from Zip-world and the newly opened Surf Snowdonia.

Nearby is Caernarfon with it’s Castle and the old walled town, Conwy also has a spectacular castle and walled town.
